The temptation of Jesus in the wilderness reveals the importance of worship, the importance of worshipping the Creator. Many place more importance on Saviour than on Creator. It is true that we must first recognize the Saviour in order to know the Lord as God. Yet it is not enough to know only His redeeming work, since His redeeming work is to lead men to know Him as Creator. The Blood is first in order, but it is not first in importance. God’s purpose is not just that we should know the Saviour. The Righteous died for the unrighteous to lead us to God (see 1 Peter 3.18).
