There is a special something behind God’s word. To rend the veil and open it so that what lies behind is seen—such is called revelation. It can also be called interpretation. Without the latter, neither you nor I will receive much benefit. To study the Bible, interpretation is absolutely necessary. We cannot be lazy; we must seek the inner thoughts. Reading the Bible with an idle mind does not require much time. Brethren like that probably number about half of God’s people. And the nearly total of the other half possess a wild mind. Both kinds of brethren are unable to truly study the Bible. For the word of God is fine and delicate. It will be damaged when handled by such a rough approach.
